Banfi Pizzeria in Toronto

Went there at lunch for two take out pizzas. Friendly greetings, quick service... no complaints. The place would also take orders by phone, followed by customer pick up. The pizza is not cheap, at $20+tax, but is quite large, 12", and made with good quality ingredients. Thin crust pizza. Although both pizzas had Prosciutto, I could swear that it was not same type of Prosciutto in both. I found the Calabrese a bit too greasy for my taste. The Prosciutto E Funghi was excellent. As a conclusion, not the best pizza I ever had, but a very good one. I would not mind going back and trying more of their products.

Visited Pizza Banfi on a Friday night - busy but only had to wait ~5-6 minutes for a table. Atmosphere was very cozy, warm - perfect for a family dinner/date night. The owner was really friendly - personally greeted everyone that came in. Staff was also really friendly and knowledgeable. Had the Vegetariana pizza - honestly probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Toronto, absolutely delicious. The dessert was also really good. Price is reasonable ($$-$$$). I definitely plan on visiting again. Highly recommend.

This place is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a fair supper, this is the place that comes first to my head. excellent and diverse food and a large list of dishes.great team, and pleasant ambience. Also, the charge is good. I sent my friends to this spot with great pleasure.

The restaurant is small and crammed. The food is just ok, certainly not the best Italian food u can get. The prices are on the higher side and if you’re not a regular, don’t expect great service.

It’s been almost 2 years that my bf and I choose this place over all other Italian restaurants. The food is beyond expectations, the service is fantastic! It is a small, cozy and intimate place that is run by a family and the staff makes you feel like you are a part of it. I’ve never seen a place that’ll be so packed, but the service makes you feel like you’re the only one there. They truly take care of you. I work in customer service myself and have never seen the staff that will remember your names, what wine you had 2 years ago and what date is your anniversary just after one visit. It’s always welcoming and the owner will shake your hand and thank you personally for choosing Pizza Banfi. Hands down - the best Italian food you’ll ever have in your life. I’m serious. You’ll thank me later 😉

We just had the most horrible experience at Banfi. Definitely not a family friendly place- do not come here with young children. I decided to come and try this place based on the food reviews but it is the experience. The servers rush you and don't look to kindly on children. Never coming back.

Had a fantastic experience here with my girlfriend. The food was served fast and the customer service is just excellent. Prices are convenient.

What can I say about Banfi! Been coming for over 15 years and it literally never disappoints. Wait staff and Nino are the best and so welcoming each and every night no matter what. Really small and cozy place with candles in the village. Excellent Italian food, the gnocchi is to die for, pizzas are solid, and the salads are beautiful. Been here too many times to count, yet we always go with our favourites and don’t try other things on the menu! Beware it gets busy on weekends and some weekday evenings so maybe call ahead for a rez. Probably the best Italian food you can get without paying exorbitant prices in the city. Hidden gem! Won’t disappoint

Pizza Banfi is a small restaurant in the Spadina Forest Hill Village. My family and I have been coming here consistently for a couple years. The staff have become friends.

Great atmosphere and menu. Good spot for a date! The pasta dish I ordered wasn't quite what I had hoped for, but that might have been due to not asking enough questions about what I was ordering. I definitely want to go back and try another selection. The service was mixed — our waiter was excellent, but some of the other staff not as much. But still, certainly worth another try.

Friendly to families and nice enough for an date night or special event. Nice service and fantastic food.

Great family Italian restaurant in the village.

The food is excellent and the atmosphere cosy. But it is the customer service that really makes this authentic Italian restaurant outstanding. The owner is a friendly Italian gentleman who greets everyone warmly in Italian and converses with the regulars whom he seems to by name. Banfi is good for a romantic date or a family dinner.The décor is old world Italian. Fresh bread and olive oil are served when you are seated. The chilli oil they offer is hot but soooooo tasty. A really nice and appreciated touch are the real candles that are lit at each table. Bathrooms are clean. Prices are are a few dollars higher than other similar Italian restaurants however, it is worth it. The pizzas are thin crispy crusts that are so flavourful. Would be nice if they had an inexpensive house red for the budget conscious but that does take away from the fact that this really is such a gem of an Italian restaurant.

Loved this place ... recommend by my friend.. nice , rustic cosy . pizza and pasta was great and fresh . staff was friendly. Don’t miss the house pesto and chilly oil ... amazing evening. Will visit again ..

Tucked into Lonsdale Ave. just 50ft. off the Forest Hills Village, we dropped in for a "small" meal ..tired from hours of travel. What a delightful, lively respite. This is a classy but casual eat-in Italian restaurant going strong since 1988. We shared a thin-crusted pizza with shrimp accompanied by bread and olive oil and a 1/2 liter of red house wine. Delicious all.Actually they have a huge selection of pizzas.We could see that great pasta dishes being served and I heard they serve filimignon specials from time to time. Lots of conversation, lighting is a comfortable ambience and all the waiters are in white shirts and bowties.Prices are moderate.Go!

They offer a large variety of delicious food. I like eating here. Staff members are always very nice, pricing is reasonable and the spot is always clean.

I ordered Lucy pizza to take out and it was the worst pizza I've ever tried. I had multigrane - I understand that multigrane base is always dry, but you should out pesto or tomatoe sauce in thia case. This one has nothing as you can see in the photo, and it was the driest I've ever had. Also, I don't like too salty food, but this oizza did not have ANY salt at all. Will never buy any pizza in Bunfy again:(

Pizza banfi is my favorite restaurant in the village. It is very cozy and perfect for a date or family dinner. The staff is incredible and always makes you feel at home, especially the owner. The pizza, pasta and specials are always amazing. Pizza Banfi truly is a hidden gem.

Pizza Banfi is a exceptional place! The service is excellent and pretty fast. The food is really delicious and the environment is awesome! I recommend you to try and dine here!

The food was decent, nobody seemed to have any complaints (my salad was basic but tasty, worthy of a 3.5 star review) however the service was truly terrible. The server seated our table of 6 and told us that they would only be open for another half hour. We offered to leave, but he insisted we stay and order quickly so the chef could close the kitchen. We obliged, only to be treated like garbage as he tried to usher us out before we were even finished eating. "I'm sorry for my attitude, but I don't get paid to be here after 2:30 PM" - his actual words. As he was an older man, I expect he has lots of experience in the restaurant industry and figured he would know better than to sit a large table with ~30 min before he wanted to leave. No one was mad, we were just shocked that he was speaking to us the way that he was. Unfortunately we had already paid and tipped him (20%), which I guess is why he felt comfortable treating us like trash. Very disappointing, won't be back.

Cozy setting with excellent food and wait staff... friendly and knowledge. Nothing is too much trouble!

We went last weekend 4 adults and 3 kids. The place was full, we waited for around 15 mins then were seated. The pastas and pizzas were so fresh and delicious. Our waiter was very helpful and funny. Will def come back.

Amazing authentic Italian food and cozy environment . The price is very reasonable taking into consideration the amount and quality of the food. The staff is great as well, super friendly! Also the best caesar salad I have ever tried!
